Coffee

In America people drink coffee like the English drink their tea, it is the all-American beverage. So it came as a big surprise to me when I first moved to Japan how much more varieties of coffee they have available here.

Canned coffee isn't even a thing in the US, which I always found sort of strange; it is a huge untapped market in the States, but that is not so in Japan.

Here there are hundreds of different kinds of canned coffee, they come in all tastes and varieties - you can get canned coffee black or with milk and you can get it hot or cold. Drink machines in Japan can keep the cans hot or cold and even in the convenience store there are selections of hot canned coffee and teas. Which is the best? Well, I've sampled quite a few different brands and blends and I would have to say that my favorite is Wonda coffee's Morning Shot, it is awesome. (It's the red can all the way in the lower right of the picture.)

Now, I'd consider myself a coffee lover and I've tried all the brands and been to all the shops across America, like Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks and I have to admit that here in Japan I've found a coffee shop that puts all of the American ones to shame; Doutor Coffee. Yeah, I said it, Doutor Coffee is better than Dunkin' Donuts!

I usually put a little pun in my last line, but to me, coffee is serious business.
