Being Green

Let me tell you one thing, when it comes to energy conservation, the Japanese don't fool around. They recycle like it is a religion; don't get caught putting out cardboard or plastic bottles on the day they pick up metal cans, your neighbor will chew you out!

They don't stop there, oh no, they conserve everything like gas and electric. Want to take a hot shower? No problem, you can set the thermostat for your perfect temperature (it's in Celsius, I'm not taking a cold shower) and not have to waste water fiddling with the dials to get that perfect temperature, but don't forget to turn off the hot water when you are done (runs to make sure he turned it off after taking that picture). That's right, unless you turn on the hot water, all you're getting is cold.

I guess it is the same logic as unplugging your charger when you are done charging your cellphone because even though nothing is hooked up to it, the charger is still draining electricity.

They do that with the oven too. You have to turn on the gas before you can cook, although that might have something to do with earthquakes, too. You do not want a gas leak in your house.

So in America you might think you are green, but you can't handle the green!

The plus side: low gas and electric bills!

The down side: Who jumped into the shower without turning on the hot water and screaming expletives at the top of his lungs countless times? This guy.

Like Kermit the Frog always said, "It's not easy being green."
