Fast Food

Another thing that I've had to come to terms with since moving to Japan is the fact that there are not pizza places or Chinese restaurants on every street corner. Seriously, even living in the suburbs of New Jersey (ie: the middle of nowhere), I can think of at least 8 pizza places and 4 Chinese restaurants within a mile radius of my apartment, not to mention the various fast food places like McDonald's and KFC.

Now they do exist in Japan and I've been to a few. Just look to the right at that awesome Salsa Big Mac! Hey America, Y U NO HAS THIS? We love salsa! These would have sold like hotcakes. Idiots!

Anyway, like I said, fast food restaurants do exist in Japan, they are just not as plentiful as they are in the US. I guess that is a good thing, as I have been eating healthier because I really have no choice.

Now eating at McDonald's and KFC here, I can attest that they taste the same as they do in America and unlike Vincent Vega's story in the movie Pulp Fiction, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese is not called the Royale with Cheese in Japan even though they use the metric system. The only real difference is that in all the fast food places I've been to so far they have little sinks next to the garbage cans where you can wash your hands real quick after throwing away your garbage. I think that is an awesome idea and it saves me a trip to the bathroom to wipe all that "special sauce" off of my hands.

Pervert.
